About the event
In this workshop, participants will choose one of five letter-poems as an inspiration for writing their own in-class poem to a friend, a family member, a stranger, or an object of affection. Likely authors of model poems are Donald Hall, Lucille Clifton, Hayden Carruth, Marcus Wicker, and Emily Dickinson.
Wesley McNair is a former Maine Poet Laureate who has won many awards for his work and published more than 25 collections of poetry and prose, most recently Late Wonders: New & Selected Poetry.
